Anita Sarkeesian was born in Canada but grew up in the U.S. She has worked as media critic since. Feminist Frequency hosts videos, commentary and analyses of how popular culture depicts women. Anita Sarkeesian was a Canadian and an American feminist media critique. Feminist Frequency is a not-for profit site for education that investigates the representation of women in pop culture narratives - is created and is directed by Sarkeesian. In addition, she works to bring awareness to the harassment and targeted attacks on women, as well as other minorities, she is committed to breaking down the stigmas and stereotypes in the popular culture. Anita Sarkeesian won awards for her work as a critic of media and also founded Feminist Frequency. Feminist Frequency is a non-profit organization that investigates women's representation in contemporary pop culture.
